A Little About Us...

Gedoriah was established in 2016 by founder and CEO, Dijon Johnson. Rooted mainly in Hip-Hop culture, Gedoriah is a metaphorical escape from reality for anyone. Whether it be for the cool clothes, the visual aesthetic, or simply a place to feel welcome within a culture, Gedoriah is that place. It is operated by a collection of passionate fashion enthusiasts(who we like to call "Gedorians"). Here at Gedoriah, we only accept the spreading of love. As prophesized by a young pioneer within the Hip-Hop industy, Mick Jenkins, "Love is the Healing Component".

Although open and accepting to all cultures, it is the Hip-Hop culture where the Gedoriah culture as born. Appreciation for every aspect of the culture can be found here. From OG's like KRS-One, MF DOOM, Jay-Z, Nas, The Notorious B.I.G., Puff Daddy, to newcomers that have reinvented the culture such as Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Future, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Kanye West. The teachings through music spoke the loudest to us, and eventually inspired us to created the family that is Gedoriah.

Dijon Johnson:

"Born and raised in Camden, NJ, I always found solace in fashion. Whether it be tracking every moment of NY Fashion Week, or simply scouring my Tumblr feed for the best of vintage 80's and 90's runway shows. However, being from such an impoverished background, I was unable to afford such luxurious clothing as that of what I was interested in. Nevertheless, I was more so motivated to get it simply due to the fact that I did not have it. Therefore, I worked for months and months, prior to even opening Gedoriah, and collected all of the clothes that I could. It took a while of course, since I had no capital for an upstart or anything like that. Despite this adversity, I gathereed about 20-30 items and opened Gedoriah. After opening though, I felt that something was still missing. Although only 17 at the time, I did not feel complete in what I was doing. And that was important for me, to love what I was doing. So I closed my shop after about a month and basically no sales. Going back to the drawing board was truly inspirational for me, and perhaps the best decision I ever could have made. In that time, I figured out what Gedoriah would be: A place for everyone from everywhere. We would welcome, with love and acceptance, anyone. Hence, the creation of our Music and News pages. In this way, we would be able to stay connected to our following, and never allow ourselves to become blinded by any success or notoriety we gain. My goal was to create a community where, not only I was accepted for who I was, but as was everyone who sought us out and what we offer. Thankfully, in large part due to you guys reading this, I was able to do exactly that. I am now able to say that, no matter what happens in reality, I will always have a family here at Gedoriah in my counterparts, and in our loyal following. For that, I am forever grateful."
